It's a dark comedy about a fictional fantasy country following a special force of governors/law enforcers, it's filled with in-universe politics and all the characters are schemers with their own goals, but it's also very heartfelt and bizarre.It has a bunch of flawed characters trying to survive the apocalypse! A country of judge, jury, and executioners clinging to a slipping golden age while a prophesized monstrous apocalypse comes closer and closer to threatening their power.Oh, and some dead guys bringing their 1000 year old sect drama to whatever is going on. Excellent! (Not.)
